PERM Disclosure Data FY2024 Q3

Today we want to share with you about the Department of Labor (DOL) recently disclosed data on the PERM applications' adjudication speed from the third quarter of 2024.

From the third quarter of 2024, the PERM adjudication speed can be observed from a data chart covering the period from October 2023 to the end of May 2024. In October 2023, the DOL adjudicated 10,588 PERM application cases. In November 2023, they adjudicated 8,141 cases, and in December 2023, the DOL adjudicated 6,108 cases. As we can see, the DOL's adjudication speed had significantly decreased, which was probably due to the holiday season.

Moving to January 2024, the DOL adjudicated 6,225 cases, and in February 2024, they adjudicated 8,344 cases. Now, we can see that the numbers had started to rise. By March 2024, the number of cases adjudicated had reached 12,495, and by April 2024, it increased to 14,025.

However, in May, the adjudicated cases dropped a little bit. In May 2024, the DOL only adjudicated 12,958 cases, and in June 2024, they adjudicated 12,469 cases. So, we can calculate that over the past nine months, the DOL adjudicated a total of 89,353 PERM cases.

In the fiscal year 2023, the total number of PERM applications was approximately 116,000 cases. We can tell from the DOL's data released to the public that, compared to the end of last year, the DOL's adjudication speed has significantly slowed down, resulting in the current situation where the PERM application takes at least more than one year's adjudication time.

We hope that the DOL can speed up their processing speed so that our firm's clients and all those applying for PERM applications can quickly get the results of their cases.

5月份的数据其实有点下降了，2024年5月份他们只审批了12,958件，2024年6月份已经审批了12,469件。我们可以算一下，这9个月劳工局总共审批了89,353件PERM的案件。

2023年财年整个PERM的案件总额大概是在116,000。我们现在看到，劳工局颁布出来的数据其实和去年年底相比的话，它的审批速度大幅缓慢，造成了现在的PERM至少要等待一年多的时间。
